Breast Cancer Prevention Coalition

The Breast Cancer Prevention Coalition had its beginning from a group of twenty ladies, lead by Nita Zachow, who met monthly in a Breast Cancer support group. After five years of supporting one another, hearing guest speakers and attending luncheons, they decided in May of 1992 to form a non-profit coalition. The main objective of the coalition was to give support to cancer patients. The members would serve as mentors, offering their personal experiences, faith and words of encouragement to those in the battle with cancer. The BCPC has solicited more than 3,000 signatures of area residents who wanted monies for breast cancer research, to be donated locally to advance breast cancer research and clinical trials at MCG's Cancer Research Center...
