
The Breast Cancer Prevention Coalition met on Wednesday, September 9, at the Mount Vintage Plantation Clubhouse. The keynote speakers were Dr. Robert Pendergast - Director of Aiken-Augusta Holistic Health, and Mr. Steven Black - Administrative Director for the Oncology Center of Excellence and the Associate Director of Clinical Affairs for the MCG Cancer Center.
Dr. Pendergast spoke in great detail on the topic of helping to prevent Cancer with good nutrition. Dr. Pendergast received his MD. degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1983, and received a Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Pendergast completed the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona in 2005, and believes in an integrative medical approach which starts with the most natural, least invasive, and least toxic options.
