The Breast Cancer Prevention Coalition would like to sincerely thank all of the tremendous volunteers who help enrich the lives of cancer survivors with both their time and their talents. The BCPC Volunteer Spotlight profiles one of many of our great volunteers who makes a difference every day.

The BCPC would like to introduce our spotlight volunteer - Eva Patton. Eva, originally from New Jersey, escaped to and lived in New York state, Florida, and during the Bicentennial, South Carolina! She has been in South Carolina now for 12 years.

Eva taught school for 13 years and then became a medical office manager. It you met Eva, her love for dogs would immediately become obvious as she used to show dogs in confirmation, obedience and agility. Eva and her dogs have also participated in terrier trials ("yes, they are all guilty," she says).

Eva met her husband, David, in Florida. "It's wonderful that he also loves dogs as we now have three." With a love for personal projects, Eva recently completed "The Dogs of Mount Vintage Plantation, 2009." Besides David and dogs, her other passion is singing. "I am very glad to be in a church choir."

No stranger to all parts of the world, Eva has travelled to no less than six times to England and Scotland, and twice to Australia and Tasmania. "I feel fortunate to live in Mount Vintage Plantation," she says. "There are other facets to my life, but you may never know them."
